If you are a commercial truck driver, then you must adhere to the hours of service strictly. And also must follow the rules and regulations that are issued by the state. - Initially, familiarize your rig, its features, and the operation before pulling out the truck yard.
- Review the truck owner’s manual, if you are unfamiliar with the truck’s operation. Because each truck is different from the other.
- As a commercial driver, you are required to keep track of the driving hours in a log book, maintain a time grid for each day along with the information identifying the driver of the vehicle.
- Maintain a constant and agreeable speed over the road during the trips.
- Put attempt to reach the destination earlier.
- Always exhibit your professional skills to your clients.
- Try to get useful tips and suggestions from Veteran drivers to make the trip comfortable on road.
- Do not stress more or do not be stringent in your duty. Enjoy your duty and make your work lovable.
- Always try to carry the basic necessities like soft drinks, food, paper towels & wet wipes on the truck.
- Stay healthy always. Only strong health can keep you active throughout the work.
- Importantly, carry all the necessary paper works during all your trips.
- Stamped Schedule 1 is mandatory and is always required when you are on the move. This Schedule 1 is the proof of payment for the Federal Excise Tax Form 2290 HVUT.
