Virginia

If you are a full resident which means you lived in Virginia for more than 183 days and/or worked in Virginia for more than 6 months, you must file your 1040 for the state of Virginia. If your entire federal adjusted gross income is from Virginia sources, you can file Form 760 as a resident of Virginia. If you file Form 760 as a resident of Virginia, this allows you to claim full personal exemption and standard deduction amounts, rather than prorating your personal exemption and standard deductions based on length of residency.
